Furosemide mg?

Furosemide dose is given in milligrams (mg). It comes in several strengths. Common tablet strengths are:

Oral solution is often 10 mg/mL, and injectable forms are typically 10 mg/mL as well.

General dosing (adult, for edema or heart failure):

For hypertension, furosemide is not usually first-line; when used, doses are commonly 20–80 mg per day in one or two doses.

IV dosing (acute settings):
- Often 20–80 mg IV as a bolus; may repeat if necessary.

Pediatric dosing is weight-based and different from adults.

Important safety notes:
- Furosemide can cause electrolyte disturbances (low potassium, low magnesium, etc.), dehydration, and higher uric acid (can affect gout).
