Ozempic (semaglutide) is generally prescribed as a once-weekly injection. Most commonly, clinicians start with 0.25 mg once weekly for 4 weeks, then increase to 0.5 mg once weekly. If needed for additional glucose lowering, the dose can be increased to 1 mg once weekly, and then to 2 mg once weekly for some patients. Doses are not taken more than once per week.
