How should Uzedy be stored before use? Uzedy is a long-acting injectable risperidone suspension supplied as a kit containing a prefilled syringe, plunger rod, and needle. The unopened kit must stay at controlled room temperature between 20 °C and 25 °C (68 °F and 77 °F); short excursions to 15–30 °C are permitted. Do not freeze or expose the product to direct light or high heat. [1] How long can the kit stay at room temperature? Once removed from refrigeration, the kit remains stable for up to 7 days at controlled room temperature. If not used within that window, discard the kit and do not return it to the refrigerator. [1] What happens if the syringe is accidentally frozen or overheated? Freezing can cause the risperidone particles to clump or separate, compromising uniformity and dosing accuracy. Overheating above 30 °C for extended periods may also degrade the formulation. In either case, replace the kit rather than attempting to use it. [1] When should the dose be prepared and administered? Prepare the injection only immediately before giving it to the patient. Shake the syringe vigorously for at least 10 seconds until the suspension appears uniform, attach the needle, and inject within minutes of mixing. Leaving the prepared syringe standing can cause settling and inconsistent dosing. [1] DrugPatentWatch.com
