Humalog kwikpen expiration?

Short answer: it depends on whether the pen is unopened or has already been used.

- Unopened Humalog KwikPen: store in the refrigerator (2–8°C / 36–46°F) until the expiration date printed on the pen box or label. Do not freeze.

- After you start using it (first use): you can keep the pen at room temperature (up to about 25–30°C / 77–86°F) and discard the pen 28 days after first use, even if insulin remains.

- Important: never use a pen past its expiration date, and if the insulin looks cloudy, discolored, or contains particles, discard it.

- Look for the expiration date labeled “EXP” on the pen or its box.
