Any new advil formulations?

Advil is a brand name for the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) ibuprofen. It is used to relieve pain, reduce fever, and decrease inflammation. According to Drug Patent Watch [1], there are currently no new formulations of Advil listed. However, there have been studies on the efficacy and safety of ibuprofen in different formulations.

A study published in the Journal of Pain Research [2] compared the effectiveness of immediate-release ibuprofen with a novel, extended-release ibuprofen formulation. The extended-release formulation was found to provide a longer duration of pain relief than the immediate-release formulation, making it a potentially useful option for patients with chronic pain.

Another study published in the Journal of Clinical Pharmacology [3] investigated the safety and efficacy of a novel, fast-dissolving ibuprofen tablet. The study found that the fast-dissolving tablet was well-tolerated and had a faster onset of action than traditional ibuprofen tablets.

In conclusion, while there are currently no new formulations of Advil available, there have been studies on the efficacy and safety of different formulations of ibuprofen. These studies suggest that extended-release and fast-dissolving formulations of ibuprofen may provide additional benefits for patients with pain and inflammation.
