Official Storage Instructions for Bimzelx
Store Bimzelx (bimekizumab-bkzx) prefilled syringes or pens in their original carton in a refrigerator at 36°F to 46°F (2°C to 8°C). Do not freeze. If accidentally frozen, discard the syringe or pen.[1]
What If It's Left Out of the Fridge?
Bimzelx can be kept at room temperature up to 77°F (25°C) for up to 30 days. After that, discard it. Avoid direct sunlight or heat exposure during this time.[1]
Travel and Handling Tips
When traveling, use a cooler bag with an ice pack to maintain refrigeration. Let the syringe or pen reach room temperature for 30 minutes before injecting—do not speed this up with heat or microwaves. Always check the liquid: it should be clear to slightly yellow and free of particles. Shake gently if needed, but do not shake vigorously.[1]
Expiration and Disposal
Do not use past the expiration date on the carton or device. Dispose of used syringes or pens in an FDA-approved sharps container. If unsure about storage conditions, contact your pharmacist or U.S. Medical Information line at 1-855-456-7782.[1]
