What is doxylamine succinate used for?

Doxylamine succinate is a first‑generation antihistamine. Its main uses are:

- Short‑term relief of insomnia (to help you fall asleep or stay asleep).
- Relief of nighttime allergy or cold symptoms (eg, runny nose, sneezing, itchy eyes) when used in combination products.
- In pregnancy, a combination product with pyridoxine (vitamin B6) is prescribed to treat nausea and vomiting (morning sickness) under a clinician’s supervision.
