Common Risks and Monitoring Needs
Hypotension, volume depletion, and acute kidney injury risks rise with lower eGFR, poor fluid intake, or diuretics—monitor renal function, electrolytes, and volume status, especially early. Lower UTI/genital infection rates than other SGLT2 inhibitors, but still monitor. Contraindicated in severe renal impairment (eGFR <20) due to lack of data and potential accumulation.[1][6]
