Standard Dose for Cosentyx SureClick Autoinjector Pens
Adults with plaque psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, or ankylosing spondylitis start with a 300 mg dose, given as two 150 mg injections under the skin at different sites (like thigh or abdomen). After the first month, switch to 150 mg (one pen) every 4 weeks.[1]
For non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis, it's 150 mg every 4 weeks—no loading dose.[1]
Doses for Children
Kids 6 and older with plaque psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis weighing under 50 kg get 75 mg (half a 150 mg pen) every 4 weeks. Those 50 kg or more use the adult 150 mg dose.[1]
How to Inject with the Pen
Each Cosentyx pen delivers one fixed 150 mg dose. For 300 mg, use two pens sequentially. Clean the site with alcohol, inject fully (it clicks), hold for 30 seconds, then remove. Rotate sites; don't inject into scars or bruises. Pens are single-use—discard after.[1]
Storage and Handling
Keep pens in the fridge at 36-46°F (2-8°C) until 30 minutes before use. Let warm to room temperature. Don't shake or freeze. Use by expiration date.[1]
Missed Doses or Overdose
Inject as soon as you remember if within a few days; otherwise, skip and resume schedule. Overdose symptoms are rare but match side effects—call a doctor.[1]
