Use of amoxicillin and potassium clavulanate?

Amoxicillin with potassium clavulanate (often sold as Augmentin) is a broad‑spectrum antibiotic. The clavulanate blocks beta‑lactamase enzymes that some bacteria make, so amoxicillin can work against more organisms than with amoxicillin alone.
