How long until cosentyx dose increase takes effect?

Cosentyx (secukinumab) is a biologic, and it can take several weeks to notice extra benefit after a dose increase. Timelines vary by condition:

- Plaque psoriasis: you may start to see improvement in about 2–4 weeks after the higher dose, with more noticeable clearing by around 12 weeks.
- Psoriatic arthritis or axial spondyloarthritis: improvement in joints/bone pain often appears in 4–8 weeks; full/steady benefit may take 12–16 weeks.

If you’ve recently increased the dose, aim to reassess at around 12 weeks to judge its effectiveness. If there’s little to no improvement after that period, talk with your prescribing clinician about the next steps.
