How much Vascepa lowers triglycerides at different doses

Vascepa (icosapent ethyl) is FDA-approved at 4 grams per day—two 1-gram capsules taken twice daily with food. In the REDUCE-IT trial, this dose reduced median triglyceride levels by 18.3 percent compared with placebo after one year.

What dose is used for triglyceride reduction alone

The 4-gram daily dose is also the amount studied for patients with very high triglycerides (≥500 mg/dL). Doses below 4 grams have not shown comparable triglyceride lowering in large trials, so 4 grams remains the standard recommendation.

How long does it take for Vascepa to lower triglycerides
