Are risperidone and risperdal the same thing?

Yes. Risperidone is the generic (non-brand) name. Risperdal is the brand/trade name for the same active drug.

A few notes:
- There are multiple formulations labeled under Risperdal (e.g., standard oral tablets, orally disintegrating tablets, oral solution) and long-acting injectables (Risperdal Consta, and in some places Perseris).
- The active ingredient is risperidone; brand names mainly differ in formulation and packaging.
