How long do you need to wait after Cosentyx before getting a live vaccine?
Cosentyx (secukinumab) is an immunomodulating medication that suppresses parts of the immune system involved in inflammation. Because of that, live vaccines are generally avoided during treatment and for a period after stopping.
A common, practical rule used in clinical guidance is to wait about at least 5 months after the last Cosentyx dose before giving a live vaccine.
When does the “wait time” start—after the last dose or after the next would-have-been dose?
