Standard Cosentyx Dose for Plaque Psoriasis
Adults with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis typically receive 300 mg of Cosentyx (secukinumab) per injection. This is given as two 150 mg subcutaneous injections at different sites on the body, such as the thigh or abdomen.[1]
How the Dosing Schedule Works
Loading doses start with injections at weeks 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4. After that, maintenance is one 300 mg dose (two 150 mg injections) every 4 weeks.[1]
Dose for Patients Under 300 mg
People weighing less than 90 kg or with specific needs may get 150 mg per dose (one injection) after loading, still every 4 weeks.[1]
Injection Instructions and Supplies
Each 150 mg/1 mL prefilled syringe or autoinjector delivers half the 300 mg dose. Rotate sites to avoid irritation. Full training from a doctor is required before self-injecting.[1]
Adjustments for Other Conditions
For psoriatic arthritis with psoriasis, the same 300 mg starting dose applies unless gut issues require 150 mg. Pediatric doses (ages 6+) are weight-based, starting at 75-150 mg.[1]
