Rebif (interferon beta-1a), used for multiple sclerosis, requires refrigeration for unopened and opened prefilled syringes or cartridges. Store them at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F) in a refrigerator. Do not freeze.[1][2]
Unrefrigerated Rebif remains stable for up to 30 days at room temperature (below 25°C or 77°F), as long as it stays protected from light. After 30 days or exposure to higher temperatures, discard it. Patients traveling can use a cooler pack but avoid direct ice contact.[1][3]
Once punctured, keep refrigerated and use within 30 days or by the expiration date, whichever comes first. For the RebiSmart autoinjector device, store the cartridge in the fridge until loaded; after loading, it can stay at room temperature for up to 2 months.[2][4]
