There’s no evidence that Lipitor (atorvastatin) directly affects the vitamin content of garlic. Lipitor works by lowering cholesterol in the body, not by altering garlic’s nutrients.
What’s known about atorvastatin is mainly about cholesterol metabolism and drug–drug interactions. There isn’t specific, established evidence that atorvastatin changes how well you absorb vitamins that come from garlic.
Even if garlic’s vitamin content stays the same, garlic can interact with medications in other ways, especially regarding bleeding risk (for example, with anticoagulants/antiplatelet drugs). That’s a different issue than changing garlic’s vitamin levels.
If you want vitamins from garlic, the vitamin content is determined by the garlic itself and how it’s stored or cooked, not by taking Lipitor. If you’re taking Lipitor and also using garlic supplements, it’s reasonable to ask a clinician or pharmacist about whether that combo is appropriate for you—particularly if you take blood thinners or have bleeding risk.
