How to Use the AirDuo RespiClick Inhaler Step by Step
Shake the inhaler well for 5 seconds immediately before each puff. Hold it upright with the mouthpiece down and the purple actuator away from you.[1]
1. Breathe out fully away from the inhaler to empty your lungs.
2. Put the mouthpiece in your mouth, closing your lips around it without biting.
3. Start breathing in slowly and deeply through your mouth while pressing the top of the purple actuator firmly once. This releases one puff.
4. Keep breathing in slowly and as deeply as possible (about 3-5 seconds).
5. Hold your breath for 5-10 seconds, then breathe out slowly away from the inhaler.
6. If your dose requires a second puff, wait 30 seconds, shake well again, and repeat steps 1-5.
Rinse your mouth with water and spit after each use to reduce the risk of thrush (a fungal infection).[1]
Priming the Inhaler Before First Use
Remove the cap and shake well. Spray 4 test puffs into the air, away from your face, waiting 10 seconds between each. The inhaler is now primed. It does not need repriming unless dropped, disassembled, or not used for 7 days (shake and spray 2 test puffs).[1]
Checking the Dose Counter
The display near the mouthpiece shows remaining puffs. It turns yellow when 20 puffs are left, signaling to refill your prescription.[1]
Cleaning the Inhaler
Twice a week, open the cap, wipe the mouthpiece and actuator with a dry tissue or cloth. Never wash in water or use a damp cloth—it can damage the device. Let it air dry overnight.[1]
What If I Make a Mistake?
Do not take extra puffs to make up for a missed one. If you inhale too fast or forget to press the actuator, the dose may not release—shake and try again. Stop use and call your doctor if wheezing worsens right after a puff.[1]
Common User Errors and Tips
Users often forget to shake, exhale fully, or hold their breath, reducing effectiveness. Prime only as directed to avoid wasting medicine. Store at room temperature, away from heat or freezing. Keep the cap on when not in use.[1]
