What's the typical dosing schedule for ozempic injections?

Ozempic (semaglutide) is given as a once‑weekly subcutaneous injection. A typical titration schedule is:

- Week 1–4: 0.25 mg once weekly (to help minimize GI side effects)
- Week 5–8: 0.5 mg once weekly
- If needed after at least 4 weeks on 0.5 mg: 1 mg once weekly
- If needed after at least 4 weeks on 1 mg: 2 mg once weekly (maximum dose)

Notes:
- Your clinician may adjust timing or doses based on how your blood sugar responds and how you tolerate the medicine.
- Ozempic can be injected on the same day each week, at any time of day, with or without meals.
- Injection sites: abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Rotate sites.
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember and then resume your weekly schedule. Do not double up doses.
