Entresto heart rate?

Entresto (sacubitril/valsartan) isn’t a medication you take to modify your heart rate. It’s used for heart failure/ hypertension and mainly can affect heart rate indirectly through blood pressure changes.

What to know about heart rate on Entresto:
- It doesn’t have a primary effect to reliably raise or lower resting heart rate.
- If blood pressure falls, you might feel lightheaded or dizzy, and a reflex increase in heart rate can occur.
- Bradycardia (very slow heart rate) is possible but not common. Tachycardia (very fast heart rate) is usually related to symptoms like dizziness or dehydration rather than a direct drug effect.
- In some people, heart rate can stay about the same or change only slightly.

If you notice:
- Resting heart rate consistently below 50 bpm or above 100 bpm with symptoms (fainting, chest pain, severe dizziness, shortness of breath), contact your clinician promptly.
- Severe dizziness, fainting, or signs of low blood pressure should be reported.

Tips:
- Don’t stop Entresto abruptly without talking to your doctor.
- If you’re taking other meds that affect heart rate (like beta-blockers) or have kidney problems, your clinician may adjust doses.
- Regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, and potassium is important.
