Standard Application Schedule for Condylox
Apply Condylox (podofilox) gel or solution twice daily for 3 consecutive days. Skip the next 4 days. Repeat this cycle up to 4 times if needed, but stop if the wart clears or after 4 cycles. Use a thin layer only on external genital or perianal warts, covering up to 0.5 mL (10 cm² area) per session. Do not use inside the vagina, urethra, or anus.[1][2]
How Much to Apply Each Time
Use the applicator or cotton swab provided. For gel, squeeze out enough to cover the wart—typically 0.25 mL per session. Allow it to dry before dressing. Wash hands before and after, and avoid sexual contact until the area heals.[1][2]
Treatment Duration and When to Stop
Most warts respond within 4 cycles (about 4 weeks total). Do not exceed 16 days of actual application. See a doctor if no improvement after 4 cycles or if warts spread.[1][2]
What If I Miss a Dose?
Apply it as soon as you remember, but skip if it's almost time for the next dose. Do not double up. Stick to the twice-daily schedule during active days.[2]
Common Mistakes and Risks
Overuse causes severe irritation, burning, or scarring. Do not apply to healthy skin or mucous membranes. Side effects include redness, itching, pain, or ulceration—usually mild and resolve after off-days. Stop and call a doctor for severe reactions or infection signs.[1][2]
Who Should Avoid Condylox?
Not for pregnant people, children under 18, or those with irritated skin/warts. Consult a doctor first if diabetic, immunocompromised, or using other wart treatments.[1][2]
