Standard Dosing Schedule for Kesimpta
Kesimpta (ofatumumab) is administered subcutaneously at an initial dose of 300 mg on day 1 (split as two 150 mg injections), followed by 300 mg on day 15. Starting at day 28 and every 4 weeks thereafter, the dose is 300 mg once monthly.[1]
How Is Kesimpta Injected?
Patients self-administer using a prefilled Sensoready pen. The first two doses require two pens each; subsequent monthly doses use one pen. Rotate injection sites among abdomen, upper arm, or thigh.[1]
Dose Adjustments or Missed Doses
No dose adjustments for renal/hepatic impairment or body weight. If a dose is missed by less than 1 week, administer as soon as possible and resume schedule. If more than 1 week late, skip and give next dose on scheduled day.[1]
Differences from Other MS Therapies
Unlike daily oral fingolimod or weekly teriflunomide, Kesimpta offers monthly dosing after loading, reducing injection frequency compared to every-2-weeks Ocrevus (ocrelizumab).[1][2]
Who Approves Kesimpta Dosing?
FDA approved this regimen for relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis in adults, based on ASCLEPIOS trials showing efficacy with this schedule.[1]
