No strong clinical evidence shows Lipitor (atorvastatin), a statin for lowering cholesterol, provides added benefits when taken with vitamin C. Some lab and animal studies suggest vitamin C's antioxidant effects might reduce statin-induced oxidative stress or muscle damage, but human trials are limited and inconsistent.[1][2]
Vitamin C alone supports artery function and reduces inflammation, which could complement Lipitor's plaque reduction. In high-risk patients, this might lower cardiovascular events indirectly, but benefits aren't proven superior to Lipitor solo.[6]
